GBA are delighted to have received order commitments from the GMI Construction Group to design and supply Grade 18 GRC Cladding for two of three new apartment schemes in Manchester’s New Cross district.
New Cross is a Mulbury Developments project, designed by Tim Groom Architects and follows GBAs involvement within the hugely successful Blossom St, Manchester apartments which are located close by. The Bendix Street scheme will see a 13-storey building of 161 apartments developed where the site meets the corner of Thompson Street and Oldham Road. It features communal lounges, an extensive roof terrace and ground floor commercial space
The Oldham Road development will see 144 apartments created over 12-storeys, also with a residents’ lounge, roof terrace, and ground floor commercial space.
GBA will now begin works upon the detailed component design tasks with GMI’s project team, Tim Groom Architects and S Crosby International. Henley Stone specialists will install all of the GRC components, from the early summer of next year through to May of 2023.
The New Cross development represents a significant investment in one of Manchester’s most exciting, emerging areas. It brings inspiring, well-designed new buildings to New Cross while respecting existing buildings and heritage assets.
